For native English speakers to improve reading and writing.

Basic Literacy classes are for English speaking students. These classes help students improve their reading, writing, spelling, and grammar. We also offer math classes, a book club, and more.

ESOL (English Class)

For speakers of other languages to improve English speaking, reading and writing.

ESOL, or English Classes are for students from other countries looking to learn or improve their English. These classes range from basic to advanced, so all levels are welcome.

Citizenship

For those studying to take their U.S. citizenship test.

Citizenship classes will teach you what is on the Citizenship test. We then refer students to Hartford Public Library’s The American Place to help them apply and prepare for the test and interview process.

Meet with our Career Navigator for help with resume building, job applications, interview preparation, and more. We also offer classes to prepare you for Certification tests, including ServSafe food handler and food protection manager.
